The signatures are: Henry Reed (writer), Stephen Potter (co-writer), Antony Hopkins (composer), actors: Ralph Richardson, Bernard Miles, Cyril Cusack, Malcolm Graeme, Valentine Dyall, Brian Weske (played Pip), Harry Quashie, Alexander Sarner, Anthony Oliver, P Griffiths, J H Coates, and two are indecipherable - Lawrence H? and one other, as well as Bee Samuel the technical director. Publisher & Printing Details The Cresset Press, London, 1946. First thus, hardback, bound in the original blue cloth with gilt titling to front and spine. 20 x 13.5cm. xxx + 577pp. About the Book Moby Dick is the story of Captain Ahab's quest to avenge the whale that ‘reaped’ his leg. The quest is an obsession and the novel is a diabolical study of how a man becomes a fanatic. This copy is ex-library but not offensively so, there is a bookplate to state this copy was a bequest from Leslie S A Jones, teacher, councillor, trade unionist and Socialist (1914-1987) to the library of Ruskin College, Oxford. Condition A good copy. The library markings are neat stamps to the ffep, title page and all pages' edges, and the labels to the verso ffep. Small read more
