Very good condition and guaranteed original US Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield socket bayonet. Nice clear US marking on the blade flat. Metal finish is beautiful original blue with some brown scale at the blade tip, otherwise very little wear. Full length 18" blade has a good tip and edges with no nicks or dings. Complete with working lock ring. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has leather throat tab and belt loop. Steel body has mixed blue, brown, and gray metal finish and no dents. Leather is soft and supple with some normal wear and is clearly marked with inspector initials. Features a brass US roundel. A nice Trapdoor socket bayonet for your collection.
