Very cool and unique Elgin watch with the sought after and desirable gold tone movement 977. This watch is Curvex style "long case" but I am not certain if it is truely considered a "Curvex". The watch winds and sets perfectly and keeps good time. The case back comes off and secures properly as it should. The case is gold tone and is in pretty good shape for its age. The dial is black with bold gold numbers. This is one of my vintage collection that I have been ordered to thin out by the boss (wife). The entire watch case and crystal are in good overall condition with no "scratches or gouges" and it just has the normal signs of wear that a watch this old that gets worn should have, but it is ready for a wrist as of this posting.The band is the highly desirable German made "Asker- cadman model" (band made in Germany) and gold tone stretch, very cool. These bands alone go from 50.00 to 100.00 here on e-bay and are very cool vintage bands.I have searched high and low for a Elgin this exact style and they are literally non-existent to my knowledge and research. This watch had a basic cleaning / servicing about five years ago so I have to list it is "recommended service" only because it is mechanical and vintage.
