This cannon appears to be very old, the wood has a raised grain and a patina to it that can only come with age. This is highly detailed, made to look like the real thing. The wheels turn and the the cannon can be moved on it's axis. The cannon itself has a lot of intricate raised detailing, including a crown with an "R" below it. T is a stick hole in the end, looks like it would really fire, the end of the cannon is very thick metal to withstand the pressure. T is no guarantee that it will or is made to fire. Unsure of material the cannon is made of, appears to be brass, t is some green patina which would indicate copper. Estimated weight of barrel is over one pound. Entire piece measures 15" long and the barrel is 8". The entry of entry/exit hole has 3/4" diameter. T is a pressed stamp on bottom of carriage that is hard to make out, Made in Spain. The gold tag on crossmember reads: Luis IV; Siglo IV???, Multiart. No information found for Luis IV, only Louis XIV, from the 18th Century which is the closest resemblence found of this cannon. Metal trim is tacked around the wheels and metal trim is throughout the piece, complete with chains. The only flaw found is a missing tack that sits under the butt of the cannon so it doesn't mar the wood (only visable when cannon is pointed down). This weighs over two pounds and would make a great read more
