Fine Modern Oxblood Glaze STORK VASE & STAND from Japan This graceful porcelain vase is finished in a rich oxblood “sang-de-boeuf” glaze both inside and out, yielding to white only at the mouth of the vase and at the bottom. The shape is a classic Japanese form, no doubt owing its name to its elongated neck. This is the kind of vase that looks beautiful on its own or with a single orchid or a couple of sprays of white freesia—the perfect antidote to mid-winter doldrums. Details and Condition: The vase measures 10” tall alone, and a little over 11” on the stand. It’s about 3.25” at its widest, about 2” across the bottom, and the opening is about an inch across. This is one of three Japanese oxblood-glaze pieces I acquired over a decade ago, but kept boxed up and have never used. The vase has no chips, cracks, nicks, mends, or other problems, and the stand is in similarly excellent unused condition. There is no signature or other identifying mark on the vase. Shipping and Satisfaction: The vase and stand will be well wrapped, double-boxed, and shipped with delivery confirmation via Priority Mail.
