Over all this pressed tin Jeep is in wonderful condition. Very small scratches on hood and a couple here and there on the rest of the body. but it is very clean and beautiful. I am very surprised that with the condition of this jeep that it's actually missing the gunner. This jeep, made in Japanby Modern Toys originally was sold as the Desert Patrol Jeep. It came out inthe mid 1960s. All metal construction with a plastic GI driver. This is missing a machine gun and army figure that goes on the blue post on the rear of the jeep. From what I am told the gunner would spin around as the jeep would move. I have not tested this vehicle so I do not know if it works still. There are at least two versions of this jeep. The one shown here is the earlier version with metal rear tires and a fixed windshield and a much smaller, life-like driver. Later versions have soft plastic tires, and a windshield that folds down onto the hood, and a almost bobble-headed-like driver. This would be a great start or addition to the collect. I've seen just the gunner go up for sale before, I hadn't purchased one yet because I didn't realize this amazing toy from Japan would come into my possession.
