Up for auction is a very rare and wonderful art deco / machine age occasional table. We are almost positive that this is by the Modernage Furniture company. It looks nearly identical to a labeled piece of Modernage furniture we've seen for sale on a high-end design website. This was most likely designed by Gilbert Rohde in the 1930's which was about the same time period or slightly before he did his many famous designs for Herman Miller. This piece is a nice petite size that can have many placement options. It measures 30" long by 24.25" tall and 12" deep. We believe this to be in 100% original condition. The "buttercream" color painted finish does show some wear with various scuffs and chips and t.. this only gives it more of a sense of history. We've highlighted the area w this is most apparent. All the wood finished parts are in nice condition. Still looks very nice overall. This piece evokes a real 1930's NYC feel... very cool. Please see all of the photos for a good visual description.
