Apparently unsigned Modernist portrait of unknown sitter, appears in original unrestored condition with some canvas waviness/deformation, punctate paint losses, replaced stretcher keys. Measures 14" by 10", 17 1/4" by 12 5/8" in frame. The frame is a period replacement in good condition with minor age related scuffs and scratches and toned linen liner without any stains or marks. School of Milton Avery, but perhaps someone can attribute it based on distinctive brushwork/style. Painting has definite age, at least 1940 or earlier in my opinion. Presentable as is, but was intending to have cleaned and tightened and touched up, but haven't gotten around to it and will leave up to next owner.
