SUPER RARE AUTOGRAPH of baseball's patriotic World War II spy Morris "Moe" Berg along with 14 other of his 1941 Boston Red Sox teammates, including DOM DiMAGGIO and Charlie Wagner. The BERG autograph (like the others) is signed in black fountain pen. Unlike the others, MOE's autograph is huge, much larger that all the others. It's also bold and clean, a gem mint 10 example of this rare signature. BERG was assigned to spy on the Japanese during the 1930's barnstorming trips the players (including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, etc.) made to Japan. He also did some field work in South America, presumably spying on German activities in the Western Hemisp Berg died in 1972 and his autograph is not just a rare Red Sox ,or baseball autograph for that matter, but his is that of a national treasure and certainly mysterious oddity. And at this time, it is the only MOE BERG autograph being offered on ebay, and certainly the nicest you will have the opportunity to own in a long time. This was part of the large JIM TURNER (actually his two daughters) collection and the page comes with copies of the Maestro auction letter of authenticity, PSA/DNA letter of authenticity, and JSA letter of authenticity as well as a signed statement from the consigning Turner family member (only copies are included because this is just one piece of a massive collection that was auctioned off, although this piece is clearly mentioned and described in each of the LOA's). S/h $5. Please see my other auctions for more rare sports memorabilia, autographs and cards.
