This auction is for an extremely rare signed and numbered art print by Jean "Moebius" Giraud entitled THE JADE PARADE. This print was published sometime in the mid to late 1980s in France, probably by Adaena. T is no stamp or seal on this to identify it. But we offered it in the US through Moebius' company, STARWATCHER GRAPHICS, so I know it is legitimate. The print appears to be a serigraph, but it was marketed as a collograph and was explained to me as a mixed print of collotype (the black line), serigraph (the colors), and hand-applied stamping (the white highlights). This art print is limited to 300 signed and numbered copies of which this is #283. The brightly colored, very detailed image, is printed on a 39.5" x 23.5" sheet of cream-colored arches watercolor-textured paper. The corners of the sheet are a little beat up from being moved over the years but the image is in excellent condition. The image is typical of the work Moebius was doing both solo and with his "apprentice," Geof Darrow, back in the 80s. You can see hints of BLADERUNNER and obvious Japanese woodcut influences in this piece. The image is so unique and this image was an instant sell-out. I have priced this to make it attractive for starting and have placed a very fair BUY IT NOW price. SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS THIS WEEK FOR GREAT COMIC RELATED COLLECTIBLES. I will ship this art print in a very heavy gauge, brand-new mailing tube with padding on both ends. These tubes cost me $6.00 each. I will ship this via Fedex Ground within the United States for a flat rate of $20 (including the cost of the tube). I will always combine shipping on items that can ship together. Attention International buyers, I will not ship via surface mail. International customers should email me in advance for shipping rates. This will have to ship via Air Parcel Post or Global Priority Mail. I will charge the actual shipping cost plus the cost of the tube. Please email me with any questions you might have.
