Their structure is glass-like in appearance and they resemble volcanic obsidian. There was an earthquake that caused the side of the mountain to slide down, revealing several tons of these precious stones. They range in shades from clear to dark in a variety of colors: greens, blues, yellows, amber's, and browns. There are also Luminescent colors, some of which may be a mixture of andara's that have melted together, many with translucent mixed in. These andara hold the same amount of energies as the more transparent andara. The Andara crystals surfaced following an earthquake in the mid 1960's. Since then, rain, snow, and earth-shifts have covered the crystal deposits leaving a remnant of colors to be gathered for distribution.
