RARE, VINTAGE MONK FIGURE AND BOOK WOOD CARVING BY C.O. TRYGG You are bidding on a vintage wood carving by C.O. Trygg a very famous wood carving artist. His full name is Carl Olof Trygg (1910-1993) that was living in Sweden at the time of making this piece. It is a 9" high Monk in his robs and cap with a bible in his hands. It has great detail in the face, hands, feet and hair. The figure is carved in the Scandinavian Flat - Plane Style that he and his family are famous for doing. The figure is in good condition except some edges of the flat panel carving. They have light ware. On the bottom of the figure is written in black CO Trygg Sweden 1966. The figure is attached to the base piece of wood with two nails that C.O. Trygg is known for using to attach his pieces with. Please note that my camera doesn't take the best color pictures. You should know the robs and cap are dark brown and his face, hands, and feet are a golden brown. The board with the sigature is natural tan color not the light color it shows and the signature is in black not blue. You will enjoy this piece in your collection.
