Monogram MB Whitework Embroidery Linen Sheet Return Panel Antique French 80 x 16 Ref DS This pretty and large monogram appears to be on a recuperated sheet return. By re-using it we pay homage to the embroiderer who spent many hours decorating it for their dowry linen collection, or to be given as a present to a member of the family. Give this ancient embroidery a new lease of life by using it as a pelmet or valance, on a pillow or bolster case, or sew it onto the top of a curtain for a fabulously decorated drape. I have taken photos of the whitework embroidery against the light so you can see what it would look like against a window. This fabric panel made from thick and crisp pure linen with texture but smooth to the touch. This linen panel has a centre seam, showing that it was loomed more than 100 years ago . There is one letter of the monogram each side of the centre seam. As this has been recuperated from a sheet, the top has been hemmed, then a band of lace sewn on top - the perfect hem for a valance! There is a deep hem (3 1/4" or 8cm) at the bottom which has been machine stitched. This can of course be let down if more fabric is needed. the sides are selvedges. The MB monogram is situated centrally left to right, and top to bottom too. It is the only embroidery. The letters are large and wide with the outline done
