Monogram MB Whitework Embroidery Linen Sheet Return Panel Antique French 80 x 16 Ref DS This pretty and large monogram appears to be on a recuperated sheet return. By re-using it we pay homage to the embroiderer who spent many hours decorating it for their dowry linen collection, or to be given as a present to a member of the family. Give this ancient embroidery a new lease of life by using it as a pelmet or valance, on a pillow or bolster case, or sew it onto the top of a curtain for a fabulously decorated drape. I have taken photos of the whitework embroidery against the light so you can see what it would look like against a window. This fabric panel made from thick and crisp pure linen with texture but smooth to the touch. This linen panel has a centre seam, showing that it was loomed more than 100 years ago . There is one letter of the monogram each side of the centre seam. As this has been recuperated from a sheet, the top has been hemmed, then a band of lace sewn on top - the perfect hem for a valance! There is a deep hem (3 1/4" or 8cm) at the bottom which has been machine stitched. This can of course be let down if more fabric is needed. the sides are selvedges.
