This is a Monon railroad switch lantern. This was used by the yards in Bloomington Indiana for many years. It has a base to sit on top of the rail swicthes to be seen at night. The green and red lenses indicated a clear or diverted switch. They were kerosene fired with an internal wick. I do not know if it will actualy light. The handle is so they could be lifted off the switch and hand carried if necessary as well for servicing and refilling. This was made by Armspear- IAN Co. in New York. The Monon name is located across the bottom stamped in metal to identify ownership. One red lense is smooth( most likely replaced during years of service) and the other red and the 2 green lenses are rigged as seen in the pictures. The top rain cover and vent has a slight tlit to it form useage or tipping. Very nice piece. Shipping will be based upon location as this is weighs around 20 lbs. relisted due to non payment.
