Hello and welcome to this auction for the Herkimer Diamond Quartz Rock Crystals you see in the pictures. They were discovered on August 17, 2006, from my mining claim near Fonda, N. Y. I started mining this hole 17 years ago, when it was just a level area in the woods. Now, with the help of 20 lb. sledgehammers and crowbars, it is about 50 ft. either way and over 6 feet deep, in solid hard rock! I have trouble keeping ahead of the moss, as you can well see! T is the two pound monster up front, with a couple satellite crystals. The big one has minor tip damage, attached pocket rock, and an attached crystal which was broken in the pocket, perhaps by frost action, but not by me. It will be included and the winning bidder could restore it with good quality non-yellowing glue, or not. It is hard to notice. Most museum pieces you see have a little help like this somew The satellite pieces are water clear and show great record keepers w they attached to other crystals in the pocket which did not survive, again frost probably cracking them up too much. Please understand when I get near a pocket t is a hollow sound and I slow down, preparing for the veritable birthing process, taking the utmost care in extraction. Enjoy!
