Montana VOLK Brewery ~ HUGE historical collection Paper This auction is for a large collection of Volk Brewery related items dating from the early 1930's to the late 1950's. This collection must have been collected by Charles himself, or a close family member. There is a multitude of Newspaper clippings, ads, magazine articles, envelopes and a pile of unused Volk stationary. All the articles have to do with Charles Volk or his Brewery... most were cut out of the Great Falls Tribune over the years, along with other papers and magazines. The earliest article I see is dated 1932 and states that Charles. E. Volk of Great Falls is one of 18 persons attending the Brewmasters' school in Chicago. Many of the full page ad's are large at around 20"x 10" or 16"x 10". There are 27 sheets of original unused stationary. And my favorite - a used Volk Cream Ale label.. ripped off a bottle and written the back in pencil ~ "This is the 12 bottle ~ still sober ~ put some kick in it AND HOW ~ Same old Horse----" This makes me believe it was sent or handed to Volk personally. At any rate, a great conversation piece! A great collection of early Volk memorabilia.... Supersize the photos and have a look!
