Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 Fountain Pen Condition: Near fine, some extremely slight surface scratches. Pen fills and writes perfectly. In original ivory leattte covered metal case with lifetime guarantee card and instructions.
The legendary Meisterstück 149 piston fountain pen, 18 K gold broad (BB) nib with platinum inlay, barrel and cap made of black precious resin inlaid with Montblanc white star, gold-plated clip and rings. The number "4810" engraved on the point refer to the height, in meters of the famed Alpine mountain range between Italy and France. The number "750" refers to the 0.750 gold alloy, the equivalent of 18 karats. I purchased this pen new Dec. 26, 1972. Used on occasion, it spent the next two decades in a safe deposit box until the late 1990s, Tafter it resided in my collection of fine writing instruments in Washington, D.C. When recently tested, the filling mechanism draws in properly and the Broad (BB) nib writes effortlessly. T are a approximately 3 light surface scratches on the barrel and 4 on the cap, only visible upon close inspection. Overall, the Meisterstuck 149 looks and writes like a brand new item.
