This fine writing instrument sold for close to $2,000 when it was released by Montegrappa. The particular example has been used; not very much, but it has been 'inked' and has some patina. It is in good to very good condition. (Note that the first picture is from the Montegrappa website showing a brand new pen -- the second two pictures are of the actual item. I'm not a very good photographer.) This item is sold without the impressive but too bulky to keep original packaging. The nib is two toned with 19K gold inlay. The spring-loaded clip and other trim is silver. The body is pearlized celluloid. The enamels are stunning. Ink is drawn into the pen via a piston feeding mechanism. According to the Montegrappa website, only 1912 of these pens were made. Please refer to the Montegrappa website for further details. Their description follows: In celebration of the two thousand birth years of Jesus Christ, the Jubilee of Christianity will take place in the year 2000. The three years preceding this celebration are dedicated respectively to Jesus Christ (1997), the Holy Spirit (1998(, and God, the Father (1999) as decreed by Pope john Paul II in his Apostolic Letter "Tertio Millennio Adveniente". For this simple reason, attune with tye year dedicated to the Holy Spirit, MONTEGAPPA have chosen this particular subject. MONTEGRAPPA'S 1998 Limited read more
