monumental Heisey Pied Piper tankard pedestal pitcher Up for auction is this truly FABULOUS tankard of almost a STUNNING 13" height. Shown on page 108 of "Encyclopedia of Heisey Glassware Volume One Etchings & Carvings" by Ream, Bredehoft & Bredehoft.. I see no "H". This "Pied Piper" double plate etching was introduced in 1922 and discontinued in 1942.. Designed by Joseph Balda. Sometimes known as "Dancing Girl." Page 107 of the above mentioned reference lists a 3 pt. Tankard w/ or without the cut neck. This HAS the cut neck. It also has a 32 point starred ray on the base. BREATHLESS in its beauty, this rarity appears to have only sat on the china cabinet shelf as a display item. I can see no signs of usage .. appears perfect to my eye.
