Moon Vase 2 Dragon, c.1870- Chinese Turquoise Porcelain This is an unusual antique Chinese Turquoise Porcelain Moon Vase with a Double Dragon theme, from the late 19 th century. The figural Vase is artfully modeled in deep relief in moon vase form; beautifully decorated in dark turquoise blue glazed monochrome enamel. The décor on each side includes a rosette medallion on the flared neck; and on the front side, two Dragons in relief with exceptional faces, three toed claws, and encircling tail, amid cloud puffs of smoke. The underside of the raised bottom and the rim foot are unglazed. The estimated date is circa 1870. Dimensions: 9.2 In. Tall X 6.0 In. Width X 3.2 In. Deep (23.4X 15.2 X 8.1 cm) Weight : 2 Lb. 4.0 Oz. (1.0 kg) The Antique Chinese Moon Vase is in good condition, as noted: There are normal wear and glaze losses, firing flaws, crazing and fretting. (Please see all photos.) On the reverse side, at 4:00 o’clock, there is a rough spot on the dragon tail being ½ Inch X ¼ Inch. Overall, the Vase is sound, having no other chips, cracks, or major defects, and having no apparent repairs or restorations. All inquiries welcome.
