Here's a great-looking piece of vintage elegant glassware which was made by the famous Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio. The wavy pattern is called "Caprice"; it was introduced in the mid-to-late 1930's, and continued in production until Cambridge went out of business around 1955. The color is what Caprice called "Moonlight Blue". This piece is shown in my Cambridge 1949 catalog reprint as the 165 - 6 in. 3 Ftd. Candy Box & Cover . The piece is about 5-3/4" tall with the lid on (about 2-3/4" tall at the sides), and is about 6-1/16" wide. It's in nice shape, with no major nicks, chips, cracks, fleabites, flakes or any scratches that I see; there are some tiny fleabites along the inside lip of the cover - not bad, but you can feel them when you're running your finger along the inside lip, and you can see 'em if you look close. However, that's pretty common on old things with lids, and of course is not something anybody's going to see in the normal course of events anyway. It's a gorgeous piece of vintage Cambridge, great blank, great color, it's in nice shape, and it needs a new home. Any questions or comments, feel free to email. Thanks for looking, and be sure to check out my other auctions!
