This sale is for all the components needed for a new 5 gallon still for use on your heat source (propane burner, electric hot plate, stove, etc). This still design is from an educated old-timer in the outskirts of the Ozark Mountain region. It uses the best of modern materials combined with skilled knowledge of the distiller's art. This is one unit only being offered on a Buy-it-Now immediate purchase.

The pot is of heavy gauge mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel with a unique bell shaped body. It has a multi-ply impact-bonded base to facilitate even heat distribution. This type of pot is far superior to thin single-wall pots, as the heat distribution will help prevent bad tastes in the distillate resultant from burning the contents. The lid is also removable for complete access. Cleaning and filling this pot is much easier than trying to access a boiling tank through a small hole as is the case in most fabricated copper stills or beer kegs. The domed lid fits well, and seals adequately. But I am including six small clamps and some teflon plumbers tape to use around the edge of the lid if you need them. These will assist in preventing any steam escape.

The still head is of 1.625" OD copper with a stainless steel joining unit and is of a unique combination purpose design you will not find from any other source. The short column is for when using as a pot still such as for Brandy or strong flavored Whiskey. This column is just tall enough for partial fractional distilling while still allowing for the carryover of essential oils that make up the flavor of the distillate. Should you desire to use as a reflux still (for higher proof alcohol that has less taste or for producing ethanol fuel) just place the included copper structural packing in the lower column; then slide on the taller column extension. Route the condenser water supply return (with included tubing) through the reflux tube at the top of the column and then you will be ready to use as a reflux still. All welded copper to copper joints are of lead-free solder. A digital thermometer is included to assist in the necessary thermal management required to produce high quality distillate. The closer you can keep the steam temperature at the top of the column down to near the boiling point of alcohol (168 F), the higher the proof.

The condenser is of tube in tube water jacket design. The hose barbs are of black PE. Unlike other stills being sold on Ebay, I am including a small electric submersible water fountain pump (Chicago Electric 145) with tubing to operate the condenser. This saves you from the difficult task of rigging a plumbed water supply as well as conserving a lot of water. Just hook up the tubing, place the pump in a large container of water, plug in and you're good to go.

Assembly instructions are included along with a resource reference w you can get free distilling information and recipes online. Assembly of this unit is less than three minutes (actually it is less than a minute after you have done it once or twice). The two column slip joints fit snug and seal well. No additional soldering is required.

For those of you who think my price is too high consider the delivered retail purchase price of each the individual items included : 20 Quart Deluxe Domed Lid Stainless pot ($74), Copper tubing, fittings and structural packing ($53), SS joining unit ($8), Digital Thermometer ($7), Fountain Pump ($15), clips, vinyl tubing, hose barbs & other miscellaneous supplies ($8), and lets not forget I'll be paying approximately $30 in Ebay & PayPal fees. That leaves me $100 for the trouble of fabricating (about 10 hours labor). This still is a bargain.
