New high quality still design for small scale ethanol production as well as for commercial distillery test batches. This is the first time (and probably the last time) this model still has been offered in an auction format (previous units have been offered on a fixed price listings at prices up to $1120). Reserve price is well below half price.

The boiler is constructed of heavy gauge premium 18/8 stainless steel and is NSF listed. Stainless steel is far superior to copper for ease of cleaning and the lid removes for complete access. It has a heavy duty tri-ply base with an aluminum core for even heat distribution. FDA white nitrile gaskets are used for both the lid and column attachment. Total volume of the boiler is 25 gallons but operational design capacity is for a 20 gallon batch.

The column is of 100mm (nearly 4") OD copper and measures a full 42" tall including the cone base. It utilizes a unique bomb shaped internal reflux condenser with ½" brass hose barb connections. Included is a 25" tall roll (in a single piece) of woven and crimped (for true 3 dimensional structure) copper packing. A 316 stainless steel spring pin is included to hold the packing in the column. Also included is a "lollypop" style digital thermometer to assist in the necessary thermal management required for high quality distillate. Stainless steel hardware is provided to attach the column to the boiler lid.

The external condenser is of the water jacket type with ½" FPT connections. Both brass ½" hose barb fittings and garden hose thread fittings are included to operate the external condenser from either a ½" hose size water pump or a garden hose (pumps and hoses are not included). A short piece of hose is included to plumb from the external condenser cooling water outlet to the internal reflux condenser inlet should you choose to operate with one cooling water source. However both units may be plumbed separately or the still may be operated without using the internal condenser at all (for applications seeking distillate output below 130 proof).

Only lead free non-leaching brazing rod, solder, and space age adhesives were used in the fabrication of these stills. Units are constructed of materials and components originating from the United States , Canada , China and Italy . One still ships in two containers. Shipping will be by UPS ground. Shipping fee shown is for the continental US and includes insurance . Additional shipping will apply to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada and will be based on actual cost plus $24 for packing materials (heavy packaging and cushioning is required).

We encourage to educate themselves prior to using any still. While we are available by e-mail for product support, we do not provide distilling "lessons" or instruction. T are many good publications and web sites w one can learn about distilling and proper procedures. Purchaser assumes all liability and risk of use and ownership. It is illegal to distill alcohol in the United States without proper licensing.
