ANOTHER WONDERFUL PIECE BY MOORCROFT IS THIS ANEMONE VASE AGAIN IN COLOURS ONLY MOORCROFT COULD DO. This lovely VASE in a rises in a classic almost Roman jar form to a height of 4 " to the top of the rim and having a base diameter of 1 3 / 4 " with a mouth opening of 1 1 / 2 ". In great condition nothing we can see to fault, this piece is marked with an impressed " MOORCROFT" , MADE IN ENGLAND (impressed) a scripted initial " X" on the base rim in a dark colour and an impressed " " on the bottom. The base on this piece is designed as a raised ring followed by the sides rising as we said in a Roman jar style to marrow ring which makes the neck. The rich BLUE base starting with the large pink to rose flower with it's deep blue violet stamens and pistols (this one measures 2 ' from top to bottom and from side to side 2 3 / 8" ) to the right we find a group of 3 , almost in a cluster The top left being Blue and from a side perspective, the top right being a rose pink highlighted in creams (and full side facing to the left) and underneath a lovely small one in the same tones facing down. Next almost a repeat of the scene before but this time with a larger center flower in rich burgundy with 2 smaller ones in the same pink cream tones as before for balance. All resting against a lush green foliage backdrop. Super Condition nothing we can find to fault and again would make a good addition to any MOORCROFT collection.
