Exceptional Late 19th Century Travel Set w/ Mother of Pearl Slot-Knife,CORKSCREW & Silver Drinking Cup Included in the set: 1. Mother of Pearl handled slot-knife w/folding knife, corkscrew, silver fork & silver spoon. 2. Silver drinking cup with a satin liner to buffer the slot-knife from the cup during storage. A 'CH' (or 'HC') monogram is engraved on: 1. The silver cup 2. The brass liners for the slot-knife's fork/corkscrew & knife sections. 3. Also on the back of the silver spoon. The tang of the knife blade is marked: 'GEBR. DITTMAR HEILBRONN',for the Dittmar Brothers in Heilbronn, Germany, founded in 1789.The silver pieces are marked: '830S J.T.' or 'J.T. 830S' & with a drinking cup. The '830S' represents 83% pure silver. The 'J.T.' & drinking cup markare of an unknown silver smith who made the cup, fork & spoon.The slot knife is well fitted, and all parts re-assemble smoothly.The folding tools retain good snap.The case is covered in shagreen (shark skin), and lined with red velvet.The liner for the silver cup is finished in red satin.The case's hinge is brass & closes the case tightly.The slot knife measures 4 inches in length when closed.The drinking cup is 3 inches high.The case is 5 1/5 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches wide & 2 inches deep.The corkscrew has a full sharp worm.T are two minor flaws...a small crack in the mother
