COIN GRADING : Coin grading is an art, not a science. I have been buying and selling coins for 40 years and by no means do I know everything! However, unlike many ebay sellers, I have no problem telling you what grade I think a coin is. But no matter what grade I assign to a coin, it is still only my opinion. EVEN CERTIFIED COINS ARE BASED ON THE OPINION OF THE PERSON DOING THE GRADING FOR THE GRADING SERVICE!! If you have ever been to a coin show and tried to buy and sell coins, you know that it is very common for buyers and sellers to disagree about the grades of coins. This does not make either party deceitful or evil or 2nd cousin to the anti-christ. It is nothing more than two people with two different opinions. So please don't get all dramatic if you disagree with my grade. Just contact me and watch how simple and easy it can be to resolve a problem when calm heads prevail. COIN CLEANING, ETC. : I do not clean coins nor do I think it should be done. I try my best to describe the coins I sell accurately. If I know or strongly suspect that a coin has been cleaned or polished, I am happy to say so in the description. However, most of the coins that are sold are not directly from the U.S. Mint and most are decades or even hundreds of years old. It is sometimes impossible to know who has handled each coin or whether anyone has tried to clean or polish it at sometime in the past. There are many coins that have an appearance of being cleaned that actually have not. And conversely, there are plenty of coins that look completely natural that have been tampered with. As I said under "coin grading", evaluating coins is an art, not a science. I try my best to describe the coins I sell accurately, but I am human so, if I get it wrong, simply contact me and allow me the opportunity to get it right.
