First a little about how I acquired these items and why I am selling them. A little over 4 years ago my sister was ill with cancer. She lived up North and to try to make things easier on her, as she had been caring for our Mom, who had severe Dementia/Alzheimers, we moved Mom into an Assisted Living Facility near me in Florida . Several months later, sis was diagnosed as terminal and came down to live her last days with my girlfriend (at the time) and myself. About a month later my Sister passed away and we respected her wishes to be buried near us in Florida . Now my girlfriend and I were left with the tasks of looking after Mom and cleaning out both my Sister's place up North and Mom's old home, a few hours farther North. We spent many months and numerous trips to the Northeast cleaning out both places and packing what we could to bring down to Florida (not an easy task as Mom had her home for over 50 years and was a bit of a packrat). During that time we made every effort to honor my promise to my Sister, as best we could to see my Mom every day. A little less than a year ago, my girlfriend and I were married in front of my Mom and my girlfriend's Mom. Several months ago, the expense of caring for Mom was taking its toll on us and Mom, at 98 and no longer a flight risk due to her deteriorating health, had to be moved to either a Skilled Nursing Home or come home with us. Opting for doing what we felt was the right thing, we brought Mom home and cared for her at the house. A little over a month ago, Mom passed away after celebrating her 99th birthday. Rather than bury her up North w my Dad is buried, we decided to keep the family together and lay her to rest next to my Sister, thus allowing us to visit both of them regularly. Now we are unpacking furnishings, jewelry and old coins (Mom saved old coins) from both Mom's and Sis's places and selling them to help pay the balance of the funeral expenses for Mom and the cost move Dad's remains from the cemetery up North to be next to Mom (he was Mom's true love and it is the right thing to do). Hopefully the winning bidder of these treasures will enjoy them as much as our family has and know that they have helped us to keep our family together. Let me start by saying that we are not experts on the values of these items and are just doing our best to properly describe them. I will be happy to answer any questions and provide additional pictures on request.
