I have been asked to relist the item.Beautiful ceramic vase in original condition with crystalline glaze and geometric designs by Geo Conde for Mougin Freres circa 1920 - 1930. No chips, cracks, hairlines. The vase is numbered 178J and is described as "petite vase decor ronds". This particular piece is quite heavy and solid and measures 7" tall x 4-1/2" wide.Joseph Mougin, along with his brother Pierre, began experimenting with faience shortly after Emile Gallé shut down his ceramic production. Joseph was so taken by the medium that he cut his studies with the French sculptor Louis-Ernest Barrias in order to devote his carrer to ceramics. The Mougin brothers established their pottery in Nancy, France w they thrived for many years. At the 1925 Paris Exposition, Joseph and Pierre won the Grand Prix de Ceramique Art.Joseph Mougin, along with his brother Pierre, began experimenting with faience shortly after Emile Gallé shut down his ceramic production.
