MOUNT HOLYOKE COLLEGE 11" WEDGWOOD Dinner Plate
featuring View of Mount Tom as seen from Clapp Tower This beautiful plate is made by Wedgwood. Dated early 1900s . Very good condition, beautiful graphics, light crazing, extremely minimal glaze discoloration/blemish on edge and back which appear to be mold marks or from a plate holder. This college, the first of the "Seven Sisters", was founded in 1837 (originally Mount Holyoke Female Seminary). From its beginnings, the college continues to maintain a reputation for brilliant teaching and academic excellence. What a wonderful Christmas gift for an Alumni, current student, or prospective student! This pattern is difficult to find and most frequently found in blue or crimson. The green Wedgwood color is as rich and glossy as ever, even though this dish may be nearing 100 years old! We are offering a very few additional pieces in separate auctions.
