Mounted Canteen Strap, Model 1916Russet leather strap for the U.S. Model 1916 Mounted Canteen, cavalry or light artillery. Use to replace you existing leather strap on you mounted canteen if your strap is weak, broken, or otherwise does not display well. Or, will not tolerate the weight incurred from hanging from a McClellan cavalry or artillery saddle display. (See the poor condition mounted canteen & strap shown Perfect for this purpose. These straps are original gov’t manufacture to replace any worn out or unserviceable mounted canteen leather straps. You can save the wear on your old original leather strap and instead use one of these replacement original straps. These period gov’t made straps were manufactured at either Jeffersonville QM Depot or Rock Island Arsenal, 1918-1940. They are in excellent condition. May have some scattered stains or mildew but will easily wipe clean. Guaranteed to be in like-new and unissued condition. Likely the only source of these and I have a limited supply.
