Movie Costume Designer NORMA KOCH Sketch TARAS BULBAFrom the estate of Oscar-winning Costume Designer Norma Koch. If you are a fan of wardrobe and costume design, please be sure to see my other auctions over the next few weeks for some very interesting items. This particular piece has been in the personal collection of Norma Koch her entire life. It is not a reproduction, recreation or look-alike... it is a wonderful piece of art created by her hand and is an original, one-of-a-kind piece. This particular piece has 3 small swatches of fabric attached. In excellent condition. I've inspected this and found no damage or problems. It is a gem. This particular work represents a costume for the 1962 movie "TARAS BULBA", but it not known for which star. It is not signed. Measures about 15 by 22 inches. Paint on heavy art board. Norma Koch was born in 1898 and lived until 1979. She was a prominent costume designer working in the 1940's through the 1970's. She was nominated for the Oscar 3 times... for "Lady Sings the Blues", "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte", and "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?". She won the Oscar for "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" in 1963 starring Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. More information about her life is available on the internet.
