MSA âeoe Chemox âe- 0 2 Generating Breathing ApparatusComplete and in Great Condition, with parts list, and shipping tag! This is an exceptional find. This is an oxygen generating âeoelung styleâe emergency services breathing apparatus manufactured by Mine Safety Appliances (MSA) in Pittsburgh , PA. These units were used by the fires service, the US Navy, and were occasionally in special service use in some industrial settings. This unit was owned by a Volunteer Fire Department. The unit is complete. Its in good condition, in its original box; with the face-piece, 3 âeoenewâe oxygen generating canisters, an attached tool pouch with the Allen wrench inside, the original parts list, and the original shipping tag are all included. The user instruction sheet is still stapled inside the lid and is in good readable condition ( t are some green paint smudges on the sheet ). The date of manufacture is stamped on the shipping tag as - April 2 nd , 1957. The case is in good condition. ( Please note: a previous owner has sprayed some initials on the outside/top of the case in green enamel. The VFDâe(tm)s initials are stenciled, in white, on the sides of the case ). This unit is in great condition and has apparently always been kept in the box and probably rarely used. In all probability âe" if a canister were inserted into the unit it would probably work just like it was originally intended. The lungs, hoses, mask and straps are all in good condition, for its age. The apparatus, mask, spare canisters, and the case weight about 40 lbs. total. You just donâe(tm)t find a chemox unit in the condition this one is in. This is a collectorâe(tm)s dream! It would look great on a restored 50âe(tm)s or 60âe(tm) apparatus. It would also fit well into a fire museum collection. The buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs.
