Taseq Tugtupite Weird but beautiful! This is a very unusual piece of tugtupite on analcime from the Taseq Slope. The tugtupite retains its natural dark red coloring for a long time, and is quite striking - but beyond this are areas of purplish fluorescence within the tugtupite which are also very phosphorescent. The fluorescence is more on the pinkish side... This would be considered gem tugtupite, but I’m not sure it will cut big enough cabochons to justify the price. But as a sample of gem tugtupite, or as an example of this marvelous stone and its qualities, this one can’t be beat.....
