This auction is for a Mount Washington or Smith Brothers Glass vase. I know this shape is an earlier one I am unclear if this shape was produced by Mt Washington before the smith brothers left to form their own factory or if it was only produced by the Smith brothers. Either way this is Mt Washington glass as After the Smith brothers split from Mt washington to form their own company they were using Mt Washington blanks to decorate. This is a well known and much loved shape, the Double Canteen or Double Moon shape. It appears to be fairly Hard to find. When researching this piece I was only able to find a couple others in this shape. This piece unfortunately does have a couple of things to apologize about. 1, it's very very dirty. I didn't really try to clean it because I am unsure how to do it without damaging the finish of the vase. Personally, I consider this to be it's biggest flaw. I cannot tell for sure if in prior cleanings if the finish has been compromised or if it's all just dirt. I THINK it's all dirt but for the sake of selling something online and making sure I've enclosed all disclaimers I have to say I don't honestly know for sure.
