Out of an old estate comes this dazzling Mount Washington-style diamond quilted satin glass cruet in perfect condition. It is one of an identical pair I'm auctioning this week! It's 5.5 inches tall (7 inches including the glass stopper), The surface is luxurious satin, yellow at the top, fading to white on the bottom. T is no maker mark on it. The handle is frosted as well. No chips, no stains, probably never used for anything more than decoration! I am told this is a more modern cruet, manufactured in the late 1960s/early 1970s for collectors. US postage/insurance will be in the $10 range.
Many people have asked about the bottom of this piece. It has a shallow circular indentation, not rough, but smoothed and buffed. To end the saga of these cruets: The woman who is selling them remembers these being in her aunt's collection in the 1930s. That means they are genuinely, certifiably, old. Probably late 1800s. Please bid accordingly, with confidence!
