You are bidding on FANTASMA's LIMITED EDITION watch individually numbered023 /888 Not only will Mulan fans cherish this elegant watch, but also any timepiece aficionado is certain to appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship and unique design of this rare Asian jewel. This Limited Edition piece, depicting the beautiful Chinese heroine, Mulan, wearing her matchmaker outfit, against a mother-of-pearl backdrop, resembling an Asian watercolor or ink-on-silk scroll painting, is one of the most breathtaking watches ever made. And the unusual 2-piece dial creates a 3-dimensional scene of striking color and form. [The painting in the background is not Mulan but a watercolor on scroll titled, "Lady in a Ming Court." We liked the colors and the resemblance and the soft mood surrounding it!] This watch collection has never before been available to the public, and although it was intended to be a special Limited Edition of 888 pieces --- the number "8" is a character in the Chinese language of special significance as it is often associated with "wealth" or "fortune" because its pronunciation in some dialects sounds like "fa" (e.g., fa cai = "to make riches") ---only 500 watches were ever actually produced, each of them numbered,as well as an additional 20 artists proofs stamped 000/888, one of which is shown here The last 388 watches were never started and thus never made, making the first 500 even more valuable to the collector!
