English Flow Mulberry Corean Pottery Up for auction is a Very RARE Soup Plate, an Original Mulberry in the Corean Pattern. This bowl measures 10.5 inches in diameter and 1 3/4 inches deep. Mulberry ware was made in the Staffordshire district of England from about 1850 to 1860. This particular bowl was manufactured by Podmore, Walker & Co. Crafted with a slightly faceted and wavy rim, this collectible plate features a floral border with diapered reserves. The center depicts Chinoiserie scene with a pagoda on the left, with a seated female figure with a parasol, tree, urn and flowers on the right. The bottom of the bowl is underglazed with the signature Eagle, and the word Corean PW & Co. T is an impressed mark as well reads Pearl Stone Ware PW Co . The bowl does have a hairline that runs from the edge of the bowl to the middle center on the bottom. The bowl has a lot of fine crazing throughout the surface (top and bottom). The black coloring on the bowl is very strong, but the inside appears to have some discoloration. I don't know if this is a natural part of the aging process, or whether the bowl is in fact stained, I hope the pictures tell the story. I would be delighted to answer any questions about this Manificant Antique. Please Note: If I've misrepresented any item I've auctioned or sold, please notify my immediately. It read more
