Offered is a very attractive and increasingly uncommon item for the specialist collector, a piece of Jurassic limestone approx. 17cm X 7cm, showing five complete or near complete ophiophorid starfish (brittlestars) belonging to Ophioptera sp. and Silosura sp., from Heinheim, Germany. One is an exceptional complete example, 3.5cm (across the arms), and in fine preservation, with excellent detail of all five arms and the central disc. Three others are probably complete, but are still partly enclosed in matrix, but will prepare with modern air-tools. A fifth specimen is near-complete and 2.5cm across the arms. This specimen is also finely preserved. No reserve for an attractive, displayable multiple starfish in fine condition!
