WELCOME Thanks for visiting! Muncie Pottery started in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie began as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. With only twenty employees at its zenith, Muncie Pottery, like so many of American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939. Muncie made use of a variety of glazes ranging from quality matte glazes to high gloss, bright drip glazes. Some of the most sought-after Muncie Pottery examples include the Ruba Rhombic and Spanish lines. Both of these scarce patterns were designed by Reuben Haley. Muncie Pottery can be found both marked and unmarked. This vase is a nicely formed handthrown shape that is about three and one-half inches tall and four inches in diameter at the waist. The base glaze is pumpkin and it is overglazed with green in a matte finish. The base has an incised Muncie stamp and a hand incised "A". The condition is excellent, with no repairs, cracks, chips or crazing visible. T are minor manufacturing irregularities in the form due to the intended flow of the glazes. to view other great buys in my store: Books Dinnerware Jewlery Misc Collectibles Painting and prints Pottery and Ceramic s Silver items Vases and planters Add Me To Your Favorite Sellers List!
