You are looking at a highly collectible vintage Murano Glass animal sculpture, designed and manufactured by Archimede Seguso in the early 1950's as part of the "Polveri" series. The gold sommerso glass is infused with red and brown color pigments and works in this color combination are most sought after and a rare find in large dimension. The life like design speaks of superb craftsmanship and Archimede Seguso, who developed the polveri technique was the only Glass Master executing it. The duck figurine measures 11.5" (29 cm) in length and it stands 5.5" (14 cm) high. The glass is in pristine condition without any signs of damage, scratching or other sign of wear and the base is in excellent condition as well.
