Up for your consideration is this awesome art glass dish made in Murano, Italy. Dino Martens has been credit in many reference books for creating wonderful pieces in the 1940's using combinations of complex canes, filigree, Zanfirico and other colorful inclusions to make many different items. This piece was made for Succ. Andrea Riode & Rag or Aurelino Toso. Martens used long stripes of the znfirico filigree and latticino formed to creat this wonderful dish. This awesome dish measures 11 1/2" x 6 1/4" x 3 1/2" . The internal design of various cuts and dimensions of zanfirico and cane cased in opalescent glass cased in clear glass. The design is the shape of a six point star. With one fold, about the width of my thumb. I don't call it an ashtray because of the width, seems to wide (that is just an opinion). Very unique and nice design. The clarity of the zanfirico snips are excellant! T are no chips or cracks. T are no repairs. Please ask questions before bidding.
