This is a spectacular MURANO ITALIAN ART GLASS VASE. It measures 12" tall x 6" wide x 4" deep. The base is is a 4 1/4" x 3" oval, somewhat pointed on the long ends. The top opening is a 1 3/4 x 3 oval. The glass is ~ 1/4" thick. The vase is quite heavy ~ 4+ pounds! The way this was made is pretty Unique! The vase is divided into 3 separate color bands - white, black and ochre. The bottom (white)section is made from crystal clear transparent colorless glass, the middle (black) section is made from opaque black glass, and the top (ochre) section is made from transparent golden-yellow glass. 3 Different Colors of Glass for a base! Very Unusual! What gives the vase its 'texture', is that translucent white glass streaks have been applied to the vase - from the INSIDE!!!! It makes what is the same color streak of glass(translucent white) appear as 3 different colors!!! The colors show on the outside as very intense and rich. T is clear, thin shiny glass casing on both the inside and outside of the piece. The vase has a lovely shape - it is a 'thin' oval - rounded points on the long sides. The sides are almost vertical (~75-80 degrees). At 9" in height, they curve inward to the neck and then flare outward to become the rim. The rim gives the vase extra personality. Rather than just coming to the oval shape of the rest of the vase, the pointed ends are extended ~2" and curled downward and then back up, forming ~ half a circle. This extension has a concave flare running up its center. In addition, the white translucent glass streaks have been stretched and they follow the extension in bold 'lines'. Very Dramatic! I have uploaded 3 photos of the piece to show the whole piece and various details as well as the piece w/ various light sources. All lovely variations. T is a MURANO blue/gold foil sticker affixed. This is a wonderful piece that will command attention for its dramatic colors and fun, interesting rim. It is also neat because of the effective way the artist achieved these glorious results. This could be used in many decors: TUSCAN, Formal, Traditional, Old World, Earthtone. VERY EYE-CATCHING! T are no chips, cracks, etc. We are a non-smoking home. Insurance is optional. I package really well, but I cannot control what happens to your package on the way to your house/office once I've left it at the Post Office. The decision on whether to purchase insurance is yours. I am happy to combine items for postal savings if items are won/paid for within 2 days of each other. I do request that you let me know of your intent to bid on additional item(s) so I won't start packaging your first-won item(s). T are times when items should not/cannot be combined for various reasons: difference in dimensions of items (especially when items are heavy), difference in weight of items, breakable/fragile items that require additional inner packing material to protect from each other (this packing material adds more weight), unusually-shaped items, the size of box required (once a certain size box is reached, Post Office costs go up exponentially), combining media items w/ non-media items, etc. Each situation must be determined individually - my ultimate goal is to have you receive ALL of your items SAFELY and at the LOWEST COST. Total Shipping will be based on the final weight of the package + a small handling fee (please see next paragraph). Included in the shipping cost given you is a nominal handling fee. This fee helps to offset my costs involved in eBay's LISTING and FINAL VALUE FEES and PAYPAL fees. Packing material, trip(s) to Post Office and my time are not charged for.
