For auction is a stunning Murano Art Glass Opalescent sommerso bowl made of thick glass walls with large controlled air bubble inclusions. The colors of this magnificent opalescent bowl are in shades of pink to lavender, changing with the reflection of light against the glass. The opalescent color fades as it moves from the interior bottom of the bowl towards the top rim of the bowl. The rim of the bowl has a ruffled pinched form, with a fantastic sense of movement reminiscent of waves. Markings : T are no markings or labels to indicate the maker of this art glass bowl. The base has a polished cut pontil in the shape of a circle. T is surface wear to the base that is consistent with a vintage piece of glass. The style is in keeping with the modern mid century 1950's - 1960's creations of Barbini, Cenedese, or perhaps Seguso. Approximate Dimensions : 7 1/8" in width at the widest points of the curved rim, with a height of 3" at the highest point. The weight of the art glass bowl is 2.6 pounds. Overall Condition : Good to very good. T are some tiny air bubbles in the glass in addition to the large controlled bubbles and a surface wear to the glass. If you hold the bowl up to the light you can detect two lines (? hairlines) within the glass layers. If you run your fingers over these areas they are smooth to the touch. T are no nicks, chips, or repairs. Please refer to the pictures as they are part of our description. PAYMENT The successful buyer will receive an Ebay notification regarding the purchased item. Buyer is to use Ebay process to request an invoice. The invoice sent to you will include shipping costs. Payment must be received within 7 days of the end of auction without exception. If payment is not received within 7 days an unpaid item reminder will be sent. If still not paid within 24 hours of the reminder, a Non Paying bidder will be filed and item will be re-listed. Negative feedback will be posted for non-paying bidders. Our shipping rates as are based on the shipping costs to the destination, plus a handling fee of $2.50.
