A WW2 Japanese Army Officer's katana would make an important addition to any collection.**Scroll down to the bottom of this listing to view Additional Photos **The tang is unsigned. There is a small stamp on the nakago/tang. This sword is a Murata-to sword. The slender blade, the blade's curvature, blade length (this sword has the exact length as my last Muratato swords), and the bohi groove all say 'Muratato'. Murata Tsuneyoshi developed the "new Japanese-European combined sword system".All military fittings are of excellent quality . The seppa, tsuba, etc. all have matching assembly numbers --the number '8'. This sword has a fine tsuba with a beautiful patina. The blade measures 25 5/8" (65.1 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. This fine sword has an early metal red/brown-lacquered saya/scabbard .Condition:This vintage Japanese WW2 samurai army officer's katana is in beautiful condition . There are no visible nicks in the blade edge. There is only a very occasional tiny carbon finish stain on the blade. The blade is perfectly straight. The tsuka wrap is in perfect condition.
