MURRINE MILLEFIORI GLASS ART Venetian Murano Silver Proof Coin 5$ Cook Islands 2015 MURRINE MILLEFIORI GLASS ART FIRST OF SERIES WITH ORIGINAL MURANO GLASS First Silver 999 coin issue dedicated to the world's most popular handwork, the Murrine Millefiori of Murano in Italy. Each coin is unique, the glass rods are handmade, cured and then cut into discs. After that the individual multicolored glass discs are placed into a mould, heated gently and slowly melted. A new coin concept for collectable masterpieces. Limited mintage of 999 pieces worldwide.The coin's reverse features the handwork Millefiori Murrine glass all around the edge. A heart shape made in Millefiori Murrine glass and the inscriptions "Murrine", "Millefiori","Glass Art" and the issue date are in the center. The finished artwork explains without words why Millefiori means "thousand flowers" in Italian. In the coin's obverse the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the face value and the issue country.
