"El Callo" Two-Chickens-With-One-Head Mola Collected by Ann Parker and Avon Neal. At first glance this looks like a pretty straightforward chicken mola -- but look...two sets of feet, two tails, one head! It's blouse-mate, also in the collection and coming up for sale next week, shows one chicken with two heads! A great, colorful, folky piece in top condition and with impeccable provenance. 18.5" x 15" Collection of Ann Parker and Avon Neal . Molas. Folk Art of the Cuna Indians , is one of the most important mola books ever written. Ann Parker and Avon Neal were a couple who teamed together to write a number of books on folk art. They made numerous trips to the San Blas Islands, starting in 1965. Their focus was on "story telling" molas, with a particular emphasis on acculturated molas that found their inspiration in western culture -- magazine ads, billboards and comic books. I have the privilege of helping Ann Parker sell a number of the molas from their collection. Kuna Art Society Web Site. For more information about molas and Kuna art, visit
