Rare 1900-1902 Loetz Museum quality vase - I do not know the specific decor of this vase but I do know it to be known as a Lava vase. This vase can be found in the Loetz book by Truitt and in the Passau Museum. Thanks Lou! Extremely large as I am told that most of these "lava vases" are much smaller in both height and width. This vase measures about 8-8 1/4 inches in height and 6 - 6 1/4 inches in width, but is very imposing in person perhaps because of the large pulled glass handles that wrap around the top of the vase. As many of you Loetz experts probably know this type of "pulled handle" is not only very hard to manufacture but very few still exist without any damage. This vase has no damage, none! The only wear that can be mentioned is on the very bottom on the vase w it would sit on a hard surface. ,the raised bump like glass surface is smoothed out and lightly worn. That's it. I have never seen a piece of glass like this anyw, not old or new. Very different piece with so many incredible colors that it would hard to put into words. (greens, blues, purples, silver glisten, deep reds and it seems to constantly change as the light hits on different angles) I am absolutely amazed how this vase could have been made over one hundred years ago, it's one of those"How did they do this back then?" The twists along with the long pulled glass handles on this vase really look amazing and the colors never seem to end. It will make anything it sits next to look totally lost. To sum it up- one of the rarest, most different Loetz vases on ebay in a very long time. This vase was shown to three experts (2 in NYC,1 in Europe) who said they had never seen one of these in person, only in pictures and never this size with so much happening. With the rarity, pulled handles, twists, blue base glass with red interior it makes for one of the rarest most desirable vases available today. when have you ever seen one of these? this particular vase I am told is much rarer than Black bottom, other handle and titania vases. Good luck in your bidding! Please look at my feedback, it's perfect especially with high dollar items. If you have any questions about this vase please keep them simple, I have very limited knowlege of Loetz and cannot help in the terminology and specific year produced. SORRY- NO PAY PAL ACCEPTED ON THIS TRANSACTION! Checks,Bank Wires, Bank or Certified checks I will also be listing a beautiful Floral leaded lamp made by "Duffner and Kimberly" that is just beautiful.
