This is a VERY rare opportunity to buy one of the most complete and rare German Victorian coffee/tea sets ever made. Wilhelm Weinranck was a master/teacher/school owner and he made this set in 1890. He used .800 silver so he could carve beautiful ornate figures. His most sought after works are his human figures and his famed roses. This set has it ALL. Coffee pot, tea pot, sugar bowl, and creamer all have different scenes of lovers and the first three have rose topped lids. The pickle forks and teaspoons all are carved with roses at the end of their handles, and the tea ball is also carved with ornate roses. I have many more pictures of each of the carved lovers scenes that I can email. Again, all four are different. Included in this 34 piece set is coffee pot, tea pot, sugar bowl all with lids, creamer, tea ball, six teaspoons, five pickle forks, cherub platter, large tea platter, mustard set with original pressed glass, smoke set with six ashtrays. This set was made as a wedding gift and the area on the sides of the tea platter for initials was never carved on, so it would be best as a VERY nice wedding gift. Set appraised for $15,000.00 in 1975. One 8 troy oz creamer by this maker sold recently on e-bay for $1750 alone. No one I've talked to has ever seen a set this complete. The tea platter is 25" x 18" and the coffee pot is 11" tall just to give you a sense of the size. For all serious silver collectors you will never see a set of this quality and of this size by this maker ever again. I expect this set to be in a museum. Please email with any additional questions and pictures. I had trouble taking pictures of the makers marks but if you need I will have someone take them for me.
