This original Mushi Kamado is in very good condition. All parts are intact and are in working order, with just minor repair needed to the cloth seal. The oven has been obviously used as it has charcoal marks, etc from fires that were burned in it. It sits on a sturdy steel stand with wheels for ease of movement. Kamado's are great for smoking meats as well as the original purpose of cooking wonderful rice. The original Kamado's are hard to come by, especially in this condition. They are made of clay and most were broken throughout the years from various mishaps. This piece is stamped on the girth strap with the words Made in Japan, and has Japanese lettering on the dome lid just above the wood and steel handle. I have included a photo of the lettering. The color is orange with a green under coat which is visible as part of the design and looks original to the oven. It is oval shaped, weighs approximately 83 pounds, is 30 inches tall, 21 inches wide and the girth is 62" (without the stand). The wheeled metal stand for the Kamado is approximately 11 inches tall and 20 inches wide. The girth is about 57 inches. This oven is a wonderful example of the traditional Japanese cooking style, which is fast fading away. Please note : Since listing this item, I was asked if it had any cracks. To be certain, before answering, I reinspected it.
