Vintage MUTOH Drafting Machine, Head, Arms, and slide rule scales Architect's Tools, very cool object form and function, from an architect's estate, straight off the table size: slide arm bars are 45" & 42", clear ruler scales are by Mutoh (see photos, note: in the photos showing the assembled machine, the hinged part is not set all the way down into the slots, the lever lock mechanism works smoothly but I did not want to push on the center metal piece to fully lock it in place in case t was a trick to taking it apart again. please email if you have questions. condition: appears to be in good working order, the slides run smoothly, I have carefully cleaned the aluminum grooves, the string guide is taut, minor scuffs in the black paint on the bar slide gizmos, the bars are straight with no apparent dings or bends. The levers move easily. Machine came straight off the table. The clear magnification lens on the head has some dust and one screw is stripped on attachment part for the head, should be simple to remove and replace. The scales/rulers are Mutoh, good quality heavy acrylic, lay flat, the numbers are dark and clear, the center of the rulers have light scuffs and scratches from use but the edges have a good clear polish that makes the number easy to read, I see no edge knicks but i am not perfect so please use photos.
